Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

VerifiedAdvisorsHub (“we,” “us,” or “VerifiedAdvisorsHub”) operates this website and the services available at verisure.com (the “Service”). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and your choices. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Geographic scope: The Service is intended for residents of Canada and the United States. We do not market the Service to or knowingly accept personal information from residents of other jurisdictions. If you're visiting from outside Canada or the US, please don't submit personal information through this site.

1. Information we collect

We collect three broad categories of information:

  • Information you provide directly. This includes your name, email address, phone number, and answers to our matching questionnaire (financial goals, household income, assets, location, etc.). If you use our calculators and choose to receive results by email, we also collect your first name and email.
  • Information about how you use the Service. Pages visited, links clicked, features used, device and browser information, approximate location inferred from IP address, and referral source. We collect this via cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6).
  • Information from third parties. Advisors may provide information about their credentials, licensing, and professional background, which we verify against regulatory bodies (FSRAO, TDI, AMF, etc.).

2. How we use your information

  • To match prospects with verified financial advisors based on their responses
  • To email you the results of tools you requested (calculator outputs, match lists)
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Service
  • To communicate with you about product updates, service issues, and support
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests

3. Sharing with advisors

When our matching algorithm selects advisors for you, we send each matched advisor your name, email, phone number, and a summary of your answers so they can follow up. Advisors are independent third parties bound by their own professional and legal obligations; we do not control how they use information after it's received.

If you contact an advisor directly through a profile page, your message is delivered to that advisor. We don't sell your information to anyone.

4. Other sharing

We may share information with: (a) service providers we use to operate the platform (email delivery, analytics, hosting); (b) authorities where required by law or to protect rights and safety; and (c) successors in a merger, acquisition, or reorganization (subject to the continued protection of this policy).

5. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service and understand usage. The first time you visit, you'll see a consent banner with options to accept or decline analytics. If you decline, we won't load analytics scripts (PostHog or similar) and we won't record session replays. Essential cookies required for features like authentication and cookie-preference memory are always set.

You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings. Revisiting the site after clearing will show the consent banner again.

6. Email communications

We send operational emails when you request them — calculator results, match lists, signature requests, and so on. We don't add you to a marketing list. You can unsubscribe from future sends at any time by clicking the link in any of our emails or by visiting our unsubscribe page. We may still send strictly transactional messages required to complete a service you initiated (e.g., signature confirmations).

7. Data retention

We retain your information as long as reasonably needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Typical retention windows:

  • Matching inquiry records: 7 years (consistent with financial-service recordkeeping norms)
  • Calculator lead captures: 3 years
  • Support correspondence: 3 years
  • Analytics event data: 18 months

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights regarding your personal information under:

  • Canada— the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) federally, plus provincial laws including Quebec's Law 25, British Columbia's PIPA, and Alberta's PIPA where they apply
  • United States — state-level privacy laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), Colorado Privacy Act, Connecticut Data Privacy Act, Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and similar laws in other states

Subject to those laws, you may have the right to:

  • Access or request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct information that's inaccurate or incomplete
  • Delete your information (subject to our retention obligations)
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information for cross-context advertising — we don't do this, but you have the right regardless
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent where we rely on consent (e.g., analytics cookies)
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your state's attorney general

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 30–45 days).

We don't discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

9. Cross-border data transfers

Our infrastructure and service providers are located in Canada and the United States. If you're a Canadian resident, your information may be processed and stored in the US (and vice versa) — both jurisdictions provide comparable legal protections, and we contractually require our processors to maintain appropriate safeguards. By using the Service you consent to this cross-border processing.

10. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the Service or by email. Continued use after the update constitutes acceptance.
